Community mini bus
We at St Matthias are community minded, and one way of giving support is allowing community users to use our mini-bus.
The bus is a 15-seater Mercedes 308 that can be driven by anyone over the age of 25+ who has been driving for a minimum of 2 years and with a clean licence.
Due to the new laws that come into operation, new licence regulations will not allow you to drive a bus unless you have passed a MIDAS test. If however, you have the old type of licence, then you may qualify in driving the bus.
The bus is maintained and serviced on a voluntary basis and although we cannot charge for the use of the bus, we ask for a donation of £40 per day plus the use of fuel that is used and the bus should be returned with a full tank of DIESEL.
The bus is owned by Fr David but maintained by the PCC and is serviced and properly maintained and most importantly, legal.
Although the bus has minor dents and scratches, all incidents and accidents should be reported immediately (however minor the incident may be). It is understood that anyone/organisation using the bus are liable for the first £300 of excess insurance and insured under fully comprehensive cover and with RAC recovery.
The bus is a manual 2.9 engine and although not the quickest of vehicles, is reliable and very comfortable. It has a CD/radio, upholstered seats, seat belts, standing height. It is not disabled access. It is clean and very useful to use for outings or local trips. Do E-mail or phone for further enquiries.
